Dalia Wahba, the current CEO of Hassan Allam Utilities (HAU), is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in investment and infrastructure development. Dalia’s journey began at Commercial International Bank (CIB) in 1999, where she quickly rose through the ranks to become the Corporate Finance Team Manager. She played a pivotal role in notable projects such as the offering process of the Egyptian Telecommunications Company on the Egyptian Stock Exchange and the insurance sector restructuring project.
Joining the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in 2006, Dalia excelled as an Assistant Investment Officer, focusing on business development in sectors like information technology, telecommunications, and private equity funds. Her exceptional skills led to her promotion to Investment Officer in 2009, where she spearheaded business development for infrastructure in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, and Libya, successfully closing investment projects worth $565 million.
Dalia’s expertise and accomplishments led her to serve as the Director of Banking Investment at Pharos Holding Financials from 2008 to 2009. Returning to the IFC in 2014 as the Senior Investment Officer in the Infrastructure Department, she led business development efforts for the infrastructure sector in Egypt and Lebanon, closing investment projects exceeding $900 million.
In addition to her roles at the IFC, Dalia played a key role in the Qatari Partnership Strategy Development Team and the joint energy sector strategy development between the IFC and the World Bank for Reconstruction and Development in Egypt. She represented the IFC in local and regional forums, actively contributing to discussions and initiatives in the infrastructure sector.
Dalia’s outstanding leadership skills and expertise led her to assume the role of CEO at Hassan Allam Utilities (HAU), where she works closely with senior management and the Chairman of Hassan Allam Holding Company. As CEO, she is responsible for drafting and executing successful business and investment models for HAU, managing all institutional and organizational operations, overseeing investment opportunities, and supervising business activities. Dalia also plans and coordinates funding and financial strategies, represents HAU and its subsidiaries before the board of directors, and ensures the incorporation of corporate governance standards.
Outside of her professional roles, Dalia has actively participated in board representation, including her positions as a Non-Executive Board Member for Hassan Allam Holding, a Board Member for Fursan Capital Partners, and a Non-Executive Board Member for Suwari Ventures for Portfolio Formation and Management.
Dalia’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a major in Finance and a minor in Economics from The American University in Cairo (AUC). She has also completed the Public-Private Partnerships for Infrastructure Program at Harvard Kennedy School and earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Certificate.
