Tantawy was the Chairman of CI Mortgage, a board member of Corplease, and a member of the general assembly of Al-Nasr Contracting Company, Haasan Allam, a sub-company of The Holding Company for Construction and Development.

Previously, he held several positions in various fields, including Managing Director of Al-Tameer Real Estate Development Company (Al-Oula), Vice Chairman & Managing Director of Misr Iran Development Bank, currently MIDBank, and Chairman of Misr Iran Company for Tourism & Administrative Buildings.

Tantawy was also a board member of The Federation of Egyptian Banks, The Egyptian Stock Exchange, Suez Canal Company for Technology Settling, Egyptians Abroad Investment & Development Company, Housing & Construction Company, Al-Tamer Leasing Company, Delta Gas Company, and Cetro Misr Company.

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce.
